DATA policy

All the SODA products are available for all ICARE registered users and free to use for presentations and publications.

However, authors using SODA for peer-reviewed publications must :

  • keep in mind that SODA is a new product based on a new concept which may be, depending on the study, a strength or a limitation,
  • cite the publication : Josset, D., J. Pelon, and Y. Hu, 2010: « Multi-instrument calibration method based on a multiwavelength ocean surface model », IEEE Geosci. Remote Sens. Lett., 7, 195-199, doi:10.1109/LGRS.2009.2030906.,
  • write in the acknowledgement the sentence « The SODA product is developed at the ICARE data and services center (https://www.icare.univ-lille.fr) in Lille (France) in the frame of the CALIPSO mission and supported by CNES »,
  • when the publication is accepted, send the reference to ICARE contact

Note that SODA being a new product, validation and quality improvement is still an ongoing work. Researchers are warned to use SODA products with an extreme caution and invited to contact Dr. Damien Josset if they have any question. Feedbacks on the product will be extremely valuable at this early stage of the development.
