Advancement of POLarimetric Observations (APOLO-2022) Third Conference

APOLO-2022 is the 3rd in an international series of conferences devoted to the use of light polarization for remote sensing. It will be held August 9-12, 2022 in Silver Spring, MD, USA. The primary topic is remote sensing with light polarization, including, but not limited to:

  • advances in the theory of polarimetric remote sensing,
  • scattering of light by terrestrial aerosols, clouds, oceans, and land surfaces,
  • polarimetric applications in astrophysics and planetary science,
  • improvement of polarimetric instrumentation quality and information content,
  • development of advanced retrieval algorithms and data processing,
  • upcoming and current satellite missions and field campaigns,
  • long-term calibration and validation, and
  • discussions on the life and legacy of Michael I. Mishchenko

Abstracts due by April 15th 2022

The APOLO conferences aim to promote international collaboration and informal, but deep, scientific cooperation on polarimetric observations. Collections of articles from APOLO-2017 and APOLO-2019 have been published in the Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer (JQSRT). We intend to continue this tradition for APOLO-2022.

ICARE Under The Hood

As many of our users have likely noticed, ICARE services have gone through several interruptions and maintenance operations these past weeks. Although regular and planned maintenance are part of the normal life of a data center, a combination of required significant system upgrades, major infrastructure renovation and unexpected hardware failures have combined to create a […]
